Alexa DeAngelis, a member of the 2008 graduating class of Harbor Country Day School and a graduate of St. Anthony's High School and Georgetown University, has been granted a prestigious Fulbright scholarship to study cancer research at Sapienza-Università di Roma in Rome, beginning in October 2017.
On Friday, March 3, about 20 people gathered for the inaugural Harbor Alumni Happy Hour at the St. James Public House in St. James.

Harbor Country Day has been referred to as a "hidden gem" on Long Island's scenic North Shore. Yet word-of-mouth throughout Long Island seems to have raised the school's profile considerably– its enrollment has increased each year for five consecutive years. As the school continues to embrace its history, look to the future, and prepare more and more graduates for successful lives beyond Harbor, it seems it may be "hidden" no more.
When Lynn Schneider joined Harbor Country Day School as a fifth grade teacher and director of the school's Lower School division, she brought with her a wealth of experience teaching in American schools all over the world, including in Taiwan, Japan, Sudan, and India.
