Supporting Harbor

Supporting Harbor Country Day School in whatever way your family can afford, is an integral part of being a member of the school community. Giving to Harbor is all about the children – the bright, creative, enthusiastic young members of the Harbor community. Our children are why the teachers come to work in the morning with smiles on their faces, why parents become so engaged in the life of the school, and why Harbor's founders took the bold step of starting a new school, based on a new idea, in 1958. Harbor Country Day School aims at providing each of its students with an education not available elsewhere, and in keeping with the school’s mission: Harbor cherishes childhood, cultivates wonder and inspires confident learners and leaders.

Tuition alone does not cover the cost of educating each child, nor does it cover the expenses of attracting and retaining an outstanding faculty, or of evolving important educational programs for our student body. Your generosity and that of other supporters, allows us to maintain healthy student-teacher ratios, offer appropriate and innovative programs, and to continue to evolve as a school which is committed not only to educating the whole person, but to being true to our mission. Strong support of and commitment to supporting Harbor Country Day School serves as inspiration to those who teach young people here at Harbor, perhaps the noblest of all causes.

Every gift from every donor, no matter how large or small, is helpful and is appreciated. Contributions to Harbor Country Day School show strong support of the school, our values, mission, and future. Gifts to the school are typically made by current parents, alumni, grandparents, Harbor’s faculty and staff, Board of Trustees, and others in the community with a connection to the school. Strong and generous support of the school through donations not only helps Harbor to fulfill its mission, but it inspires others to give.

Quote of the Day

As I dropped my kids off this morning and proceeded to take a flight, I never had a moment's pause about leaving them in the care of the school while I was beyond their reach. That kind of trust is priceless.

—Current Parent
