Welcome Letter from Christine McBrien
Dear Prospective Families,
Thank you for expressing an interest in Harbor Country Day School. I hope that you have had an opportunity to thoughtfully explore our website and that you have enjoyed experiencing the visual depictions and written explanations of what makes HCDS such a remarkable school.
As the Director of Admission, I am often asked to describe why HCDS is unique and to be quite honest; I sometimes don’t know where to begin. I could start by speaking of the beautifully landscaped historical setting, the rigorous academics, and the supportive learning environment. I could go into great detail about our naturally inquisitive students, the impressive curriculum and extracurricular programs, strong student placement in competitive high schools, respectful interaction, and the inviting Harbor Country Day School community. However, despite all of these options, I generally start with something much more basic: the smiles. Harbor Country Day School students absolutely love coming to school, and the evidence stretches from ear to ear and extends throughout every grade. Harbor students develop into young people of strong character and self advocates in their own learning. At HCDS, an education is not something to be endured, but rather, it is an enriching journey to be embraced, celebrated and enjoyed.
I encourage you to learn more about Harbor Country Day School by either filling out the online information request form, contacting me directly, or setting up an appointment to visit us in person.
I look forward to seeing you soon.
