Renovation of Miller Field
Charting Our Course Together:
The $10 Million Campaign for Harbor Country Day School
On October 16, 2018, Head of the Harbor Mayor Douglas Dahlgard and Chief of Police Chuck Lohmann joined officials and students from Harbor Country Day School to dedicate the school’s new athletic field to Mrs. Charles Miller, Jr., a founder of Harbor Country Day and former member of the school’s board of trustees. The renovation of the school’s field, known as Miller Field, was made possible by a philanthropic gift from a family who wishes to remain anonymous.
“Harbor Country Day School has been a pillar in the St. James community since it was founded in 1958, educating thousands of children from St. James and surrounding communities,” said Head of School John Cissel upon the dedication of the field. “For more than 60 years, passers by have admired Harbor’s picturesque setting on 11 beautiful acres on North Country Road. The renovation of our athletic fields is an enhancement not only for the school and for our students, but for the community as well.”
