FIELD DAY 2023 INFORMATION

for PK3 - Grade 8 Students

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

PK3-Grade 4: 9:30-11:30
Lunch for all students: 11:30-12:30
Grades 5-8: 12:30-2:30

GENERAL EVENT INFO:

Students are being provided field day shirts to be worn that day.
Lunch will be provided for parents, students, and staff.
Lower school/early childhood will be from 9:30-11:30 (upper school students assist).
Upper school will be from 12:30-2:30. Some teachers will be participating if LS students want to stay to watch.
All dismissal changes must be provided to Miss Meredith in the front office in advance, preferably at least the day before field day.
There will be a few surprises included this year thanks to the assistance of the PA.

PK DETAILS:

Preschool students need to have a parent accompany them if they wish to participate in Field Day
Preschool 3s Students will have the option to arrive at either 8:30am or 9:30am (Parents should arrive and park in back of the school at 9:30am if they dropped students off at 8:30am)
Preschool 4s students and parents are arriving at 8:50am for their Ocean Animals presentations in the outdoor classroom. From there, students will be dismissed at 9:30am to begin the games.
Preschoolers will participate in the games from 9:30am - 11:30 am
Lunch Preschool will begin at 11:30am
Full day students have the option of staying after lunch since it is a full day of school or they may leave for the day with their parents
Half Day students leave once they are done with lunch

IMPORTANT NOTE:
All students must have a reusable water bottle and sneakers. It is recommended that all students come wearing sunblock, and bring extra, just in case. Students in K-8 must also wear the HCDS Field Shirt day provided to them. Thank you!

Telephone, Cell Phone & Smart Watch Policy

If there is a need for a student to call home, they may use the phone in the Main Office to do so.

Cell phones* may be brought to school, but must be kept in lockers/cubbies during school hours. Parents/guardians are asked to please call the Main Office (631-584-5555) to leave messages for students and/or school personnel. Parents should not be texting their child/ren during school hours.

*If a student is found using, or in possession of, their cell phone during the school day, it will be confiscated and returned at the conclusion of the day. A second offense will result in the student completely losing the privilege of bringing their phone to school.

**Students are not to make calls or send messages via Smart Watches during school hours. Should a smart watch become a distraction for the student and/or the class, the student may be asked to leave the watch in their locker/cubby for the remainder of the day. Repeat incidents may also result in the student completely losing the privilege of bringing their smart watch to school.
