Influenza Guidance from the NYS Department of Health

Preschool (PK2, PK3, PK4): Formal dress codes do not apply to our youngest learners. Children should wear clean, comfortable clothing and sneakers. Parents must provide two full sets of emergency clothes and one set of rain boots to be kept at school. (The official classroom uniform remains entirely optional for these grade levels.)

Kindergarten through Grade 8: Grade-specific uniforms are required and must be sourced through Lands' End. Sneakers are fully approved as daily footwear options.

Every Friday, students are invited to wear appropriate bottoms of choice (including clean jeans, sweatpants, leggings, and school-appropriate length shorts) paired with an official Harbor spirit wear shirt or uniform top. Shirts without an official Harbor logo do not qualify as spirit wear and are prohibited on Spirit Days. Spirit wear tops can be purchased from the online store.

Chromebook Carrying Cases

• Urgent Communications: If a student needs to contact home, they are fully permitted to use the direct telephone line in the Main Office. Parents and guardians are requested to call the Main Office at 631-584-5555 to leave essential messages for their children or school faculty. Parents must refrain from texting or calling their children's personal devices during school hours.
• Cell Phones: Personal cell phones may be brought to school but must remain turned off and securely stored inside student lockers or cubbies throughout the duration of the school day. If a student is found using or possessing a mobile phone outside their locker during the day, it will be confiscated and returned exclusively at dismissal. A second infraction will result in the immediate forfeiture of the privilege to bring a device onto school grounds.
• Smart Watches: Students are prohibited from initiating calls or sending messages via Smart Watches during school hours. Should a device become a distraction to the student or the classroom environment, the student will be required to store it inside their locker for the remainder of the afternoon. Repeated infractions will result in the total loss of the privilege to wear the watch to campus.
